On January 29, 2003, a Notice of Violation and Proposed Imposition of Civil Penalty in the amount of $6,000 was issued for a Severity Level III violation involving a deliberate failure to conduct radiographic operations by a certified individual at the licensee's permanent radiographic facility, and at temporary job sites. Since the licensee does not intend to use the material in the future, the license was amended for storage incident to disposal. To encourage prompt disposal of the sources, NRC has given the licensee 60 days to dispose the material, in which case, the NRC will forgo the proposed civil penalty.
